Beauty Business Wins Three Green Skincare Awards

A Henley based business has won three coveted green skincare awards against stiff competition.

Luv My Oil, a fast growing natural beauty enterprise, was awarded Gold for its Rose Facial Oil in a best product competition run by Green Parent magazine which attracted over 300 entries from across the UK. In another awards event the Rose Facial Oil also won Bronze in a Europe-wide competition run by Free From Skincare awards which drew entries from twenty countries.

Donna Thomson, a 58-year-old beauty therapist, who lives with her son in Henley and who has created the Luv My Oil range of products said: “This is the first competition I’ve entered so I’m really surprised. I couldn’t be more delighted, it’s been hard work, but I’m so proud of these awards and the recognition”.

The business has only been going for two years and it’s a crowded marketplace, but testers described the Rose Facial Oil – created for Dry & Mature skin, as sumptuous and a dream to use. They commended not only the quality of the oil but the sustainability of the product and the recyclable packaging. A second facial oil made with Orange Blossom for Normal & Combination skin won Editor’s choice in the Green Parent awards.

Donna, has studied extensively in advance aromatherapy and organic skincare and formulates and blends all the oils by hand. She has over twenty years’ experience in massage and beauty therapy and developed an interest in aromatherapy during pregnancy. But it wasn’t until lockdown that she began producing facial oils for specific skin types. Her popular Healing Facial Oil for oily/combination skin began as a response to her son’s teenage acne.

“I know how much clients love the oils and success in the awards is very gratifying. I’m looking forward to developing the range even further”, says Donna.
