Ace Places Nominated for Two Prestigious Business Awards

Ace Places who produce Henley Playing Cards Local are celebrating a double nomination for two Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Business Awards: Most Promising New Business and Excellence in Innovation.

Henley Playing Cards were launched in 2023 by Emma Sweet. Since launching, Ace Places has sold more than 12,500 packs across Henley and Marlow, raising over £2,800 for grassroots charities – including £839 for the Kenton Theatre in Henley.

In the Most Promising New Business category, Ace Places is shortlisted alongside Assist Investigations (Windsor) and Thompson Refurbishments (Marlborough). For Excellence in Innovation, it’s up against Clens Cosmetics (Hayes) and GMC Limited (Theale).

Emma said, ““What started as a simple idea shared on Facebook has grown into something that supports high streets, sparks town pride, and gives people a joyful new way to explore where they live. To be recognised for both innovation and potential is such a meaningful boost.”

With a national franchise model now in motion, Emma hopes to see packs popping up in towns across the UK – all led by local ‘Leaders of the Pack’ who are passionate about their communities.

The winners of the Thames Valley Chamber Awards will be announced on Wednesday 2 July 2025.

The next Henley Card Club, hosted by Emma, takes place on Thursday 5 June at the Old Bell, Bell Street from 7pm. All are welcome to come along to play cards with all donations going to the Chiltern Centre.
