Exiles away win!
Fresh from a disappointing defeat the previous weekend Henley Exiles were keen to get back to winning ways when they travelled to HKRG FC in a division 5 clash.
Henley started the game quickly and were totally dominant throughout the first half. Although, it did take them 40 minutes before opening the scoring when Lincoln Winters whipped a lovely low cross into the box for Billy Whittaker to tap in from close range.
Then the floodgates well and truly opened.
Will Sheard hit a curling long range effort that the keeper couldn’t deal with to make it two.
Followed by a quick fire brace from Ben Stodolnic when he was released with a long ball from Charlie Saul firstly and placed it into the bottom corner, then tucked away the penalty he won shortly after.
In the second half Henley continued to pile on the pressure and 5 minutes in, Connor Gough looped a good ball into the box and Rufus Gould stuck it away neatly at the far post.
HKRG got what was little more than a consolation goal when they scored directly from a free kick against the run of play.
However, the Exiles continued to play well and probe at the opposition and then rounded off the scoring with another penalty, this time tucked away by Man of the Match Connor Gough to end the game 1-6.
A well deserved and emphatic victory for the Exiles.
