From Gamesmaker to Community Ambassador

Inspired by her experience as a London 2012 Olympic Gamesmaker at Dorney Lake, Michaela set out to create Henley Herald — a truly community-focused news website for Henley-on-Thames.

In this talk, Michaela shares the journey of starting a new business, the determination and focus needed to reach every part of the community in those early days, and how, 14 years later, there is still no finish line. The Herald continually evolves and is no longer just about the news.

Michaela will also offer practical insights into what makes a strong press release and how organisations can benefit from immersing themselves into the community.
