Situation Vacant: Temporary Pantomime Crew
The Kenton Theatre is inviting people with backstage theatre experience to join the crew for this year’s Christmas pantomime, Dick Whittington. The historic Henley theatre is recruiting temporary Assistant Stage Managers and Fly Crew to work throughout the production, which runs from 30 November to 29 December.
The successful applicants will become part of the team responsible for bringing one of the Kenton’s biggest productions of the year to the stage, working alongside the Technical Manager and Production Stage Manager. Crew members will rotate between Assistant Stage Manager and fly crew duties, helping to raise and lower scenic elements, manage set changes, prepare props and support the cast throughout performances. The roles offer approximately 30 hours of work each week, including during Christmas week, with additional hours available during the installation period. Pay is £13.50 per hour.
The Kenton is looking for applicants who already have some experience on or backstage in a theatre environment, while previous stage management or fly operating experience would be an advantage.
Applications are being considered on an ongoing basis and the theatre is encouraging interested candidates to apply early.
Applicants should send a CV and cover letter to recruitment@thekenton.org.uk, using Panto Crew: Temporary Assistant Stage Manager and Fly Crew as the subject line.
Further information is available from Technical Manager David Riley at david.riley@thekenton.org.uk.
