Henley Quakers will be showing The Hardest Bridge, an awarding film about reconciliation on Thursday 8 October at Henley Meeting House, Northfield End.
This film asks important questions about peace-building. Is it possible for enemies to be reconciled? Can the wounds of war be healed? Through the story of 2 people – Patrick Macgee who planted the IRA bomb at the Tory Party Conference in 1984 and Jo Berry whose father was killed by that bomb, we discover the transforming power of empathy and friendship. The film director, Imad Karam, will lead a Q&A session after the 45-minute film has been shown.
The film starts at 7.00pm, doors open 6.45pm. Free entrance.
