The Henley Society have a fascinating walking tour and talks coming up in September and October.
There are few places left on the Michael Redley walking tour of the Charles Clements buildings in Henley tomorrow (Tuesday 7 September) starting at 2pm from the Town Hall steps. The walk will last about 1 1/2 hours over flat terrain and will finish with tea and cake in the Watercolour Cafe. To reserve a place call 07860 145982
On Thursday 23 September 2021 at 7pm (via Zoom) Alan Pontin will be giving a talk entitled Henley’s need for new housing and how it can be sympathetically achieved. If you wish to ask Alan a question please add that to your email so that the answer can be properly researched.
Simon Spearing, the recently appointed General Manager of the Kenton Theatre will give a talk on Tuesday 19 October 2021 at 7.30pm on The Kenton Theatre, the past, the present, the future and the Ghost! Simon’s talk will include his early thoughts on the future direction of the 4th oldest working theatre in the country. The talk will take place in the Pither Room, Christchurch Centre, Reading Road at 7.30pm and will last about 45 minutes plus any questions. The Executive Committee hope that you will join them for a glass of wine after the talk. Tickets priced at £6. 50 per person can be obtained via Eventbrite.
