THP Solicitors are hosting a quiz night in aid of a 21 mile charity North Channel swim by the Henley Mermaids, an all female group of open water swimmers on Thursday 12 May at Henley Rugby Club from 7.00-10.00pm.
In June 2022, Henley Mermaids Laura Reineke and Joan Fennelly will attempt to swim 21 miles across the North Channel between Northern Ireland and Scotland in aid of the charity Surfers Against Sewage. The water temperature will be a very chilly 11 degrees.
The North Channel swim is considered the toughest of the ‘Seven Ocean Sea Swims’, which include the English Channel between England and France and the Cook Strait between the North and South Islands of New Zealand.
Money raised by the Henley Mermaids will be used to support the environmental charity Surfers Against Sewage – a national marine conservation and campaigning charity that inspires, unites and empowers communities to take action to protect oceans, beaches, waves and wildlife.
All proceeds of this quiz will sponsor the Mermaids for this amazing charity swim.
The cost is £20 per head which includes dinner*. There will be a cash bar. Teams of 4-8 members.
* When booking please specify your dinner preference of either a chicken or a vegetable curry with rice and naan bread.
