Herald Presents Lowland Rescue Cheque for £850 From Awards Party

The Herald’s Editor, Michaela Clarke was delighted to present a cheque for £850 to Lowland Rescue Oxfordshire this week which was raised at the Community Champion Awards party at Henley Rugby Club on 11 March through ticket sales and a raffle.

Marcus Nurton, Chair of Lowland Rescue Oxfordshire said, “We’re very grateful for the Henley Herald for hosting the event and being the benefactor of the event and would like to thank the Henley community for their support as we’re an organisation that relies wholly on donations for our operation costs.  £850 will see us through a couple of months for a fuel, our consumables and our insurances.”

Michaela said, “I’m really pleased that we are able to host the party this year with Lowland being our charity partner.  We chose them for last year’s party which unfortunately wasn’t able to go ahead.  I would like to thank all the organisations who gave brilliant raffle tickets which included Henley Festival and Relais Henley Hotel and to all the party sponsors ManningUK, THP Solicitors, Southern Plant, IBS Office Solutions, Henley Manor Care Home, Meadows Farm Studios, Henley Self Storage and Brakspear. We will be opening the nominations for this year’s awards in September.”
