We wanted to share with your readers the acts of generosity that, we at the 60+ Club have received recently from local people.
In these very difficult times it is heart-warming to hear of these acts of kindness and sharing. When the Tony Lane Foundation heard that the Club was extremely concerned about the huge rise in their energy bills, the charity stepped in and have provided us with sufficient funding that our members, whilst in the Club will be wonderfully warm this winter. Our very popular Christmas Lunch, turkey and all the trimmings, will once again be sponsored by Tomalins, so completely free to our members. I know we are all greatly looking forward to the day and are most grateful for Tomalins sponsoring us once again.
Finally, following the cancellation of the Henley Residents Group’s BBQ, which was originally planned for the weekend following the sad death of HRH Queen Elizabeth, rather than remain in member’s freezers; 70 sausages, 70 burgers and 70 chicken pieces were donated to the Club. Again the Club is very grateful for this generous act which has certainly helped to reduce the cost of some of our delicious meals that remain excellent value at £7.
So the spirit of generosity lives on in Henley and thank you once again.
