Come & Learn About the Rotary Club

Henley will host Rotary in the Thames Valley’s district assembly on Saturday (29 April), the first since COVID. All are welcome to come to learn more about the 1.2 million-strong volunteer organisation.

The assembly takes place from 9 a.m. onwards at Christ Church Centre, Reading Road. Attendees will learn about the latest directions and trends in Rotary International, and me able to meet local members of the Rotary Club of Henley-on-Thames.

Rotary’s area of focus are:

  • Peace and conflict prevention/resolution.
  • Disease prevention and treatment.
  • Water and sanitation.
  • Maternal and child health.
  • Basic education and literacy.
  • Economic and community development.
  • The environment.

In addition, the Henley club is looking for volunteers to join it in a local river clean-up as part of the Big Help Out on Monday, 8 May. It starts at 10 a.m. at the Rotary gazebo in front of the River and Rowing Museum.
