Blocked Sewage Not Resolved So Tanker Has Returned

The blocked sewer in Market Place hasn’t been resolved as planned by Thames Water so a tanker has returned last Tuesday.

The blockage started on 29 June and caused a spill out of a manhole in the Blanchards Law office basement opposite.  On the 19 July Thames Water confirmed that work to resolve the blockage would take place the following weekend.

A Thames Water spokesperson said: “We are sorry to residents and businesses for any disruption whilst our engineers continue to work on a sewer repair on Bell Street in Henley-on-Thames.

“Due to the complexities of the repair, an excavation is being arranged to complete this work safely. Our teams are working to get the necessary permits in place to carry this out as soon as possible.

“During this time the tanker will remain at the site to manage the excess flow of our sewer networks which will ensure residents can continue to flush their loos and protect them from flooding.”

Thames Water have gained road closure permission for the work on Market Place between 30 Aug-1 September between 8.00-6.00pm.
