Man Charged After Handbag Snatched With Knife on Footpath

A lady who was walking along the footpath between Tilebarn Close to Paradise Road near to the community orchard had her hand bag taken by a man who approached from behind and cut her bag off with a knife and then ran off towards Paradise Road on Friday (16/2) around 2.15pm.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said, “Thames Valley Police received a report of a robbery on Paradise Road, Henley-on-Thames, on Friday (16/2). Following an investigation, a man was arrested on Saturday (17/2).

“Jamie Furlong, aged 25, of Holloway Road, Islington, was charged on Sunday (18/2) with two counts of robbery and one count of fraud by false representation.

“Furlong appeared at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court yesterday (19/2) and was further remanded. He is due to appear at Aylesbury Crown Court on 19 March.”
