Thunderbirds 6 Claim Victory Over Henley Hawks

In a spirited contest between Henley Hawks 1 and Thunderbirds 6 in the RDNL Division 1 the Hawks showcased resilience and determination despite facing a strong opposition. Despite their best efforts, the Hawks couldn’t overcome Thunderbirds’ dominance, resulting in a hard-fought defeat.
The Hawks took to the court led by the scoring prowess of Katie Bayfield at GS and the dynamic playmaking of Totie Thomas at GA.
In the midcourt, Sammy Coff’s agility and Judy Goforth’s leadership provided a steady foundation for the Hawks’ attacking efforts, while Sarah Filby’s defensive prowess at WD thwarted Thunderbirds’ advances. However, Thunderbirds’ relentless pressure and precise shooting ultimately proved challenging to overcome.
Defensively, Lydia Johnston at GD and Charlotte Hopper at GK displayed tenacity and resilience, making crucial interceptions and limiting Thunderbirds’ scoring opportunities. Despite their efforts, Thunderbirds’ clinical finishing proved decisive, securing them a well-deserved victory with a final scoreline of 53-27.
Despite the loss, Henley Hawks can take pride in their performance. The team are determined to bounce back stronger in the upcoming matches and continue their pursuit of success in the league. Congratulations to Player of the Macth Sammy Coff (WA)
