Tales of Travels to India Talk

The Henley Branch of the Royal British Legion would like to invite you to their next monthly talk followed by lunch on Tuesday 19 March when the speaker will be John Bodman who will entertain with stories of his extensive Travels in India.

Since his retirement in 1997 when John visited a lifelong friend and fellow engineering student from way back in the 1950’s, he got the India ‘bug’ which has led to twelve visits all over the country.   Rosemary Jones, Secretary of the Shiplake Branch of RBL, will add information from a woman’s perspective too. They will speak about the Golden Temple at Amritsar, the Shimla Railway, Temple cities and their pilgrims, tribal people in the Thar Desert in Northern India and much more besides.

All are welcome and it is not necessary to be a member of Royal British Legion or to have any military background. The cost is £18 to include a two course lunch and tea or coffee and the chance to meet and chat with like-minded Henley residents.

It is essential to book beforehand by contacting Karen Grieve on  henleyonthames.secretary@rbl.community or on 07990 833241 by Thursday 14 March
