Lions Present Donation of £1000 to Riverside Counselling

The Lions Club of Henley presented a cheque to Riverside Counselling for £1,000 last week at the Quaker Meeting House.

Riverside Counselling are charity who provide affordable counselling and psychotherapy to adults and young people from the age of 12, face-to-face, over the phone or via video.

David Murray from Henley Lions said, “Henley Lions chose to support Riverside Counselling as it does so much to help some of the most vulnerable individuals in our local community.  We have supported them in the past and are very pleased to be able to do so again with this contribution.”

Adrian Marsh, Chair of Trustees said,Riverside Counselling Service are extremely grateful for the support of the Henley Lions. Riverside provide high-quality counselling that is affordable for all who need it across South Oxfordshire, and delivered over 5500 counselling sessions last year – work which our clients frequently describe as life-changing. In order to continue with our work, we have to raise significant funds each year – a task that is all the more challenging in today’s environment where we are in the midst both of a mental health and a cost-of-living crisis. The money the Lions have donated will be invaluable to us, in particular helping us to support volunteer counsellors on their journey towards achieving full professional accreditation.”
