SODC Increase Car Park Prices

The prices in Henley car parks run by South Oxfordshire District Council went up yesterday (1 April).

A free hour remains in Kings Road and Greys Road car parks.  All prices have now been rounded up to the nearest pound.

For 2 hours in Kings Road and Greys Road car parks it goes up from £1.80 to £2.00 (11%) and up to 3 hours goes from £2.40 to £3.00 (25% increase).  The long stay at Southfields, off Goodalls Close for up to 5 hours goes from £3.20 to £4.00 and 5 hours+ from £4.40 to £5.00.

Councillor Sue Cooper, South Oxfordshire District Council Cabinet Member for the Environment, said: “It is always a difficult balance between supporting our local traders, ensuring we have enough revenue to invest in maintaining our car parks, and encouraging people to swap their cars for walking, bikes or buses when possible which would help improve air quality.

“I believe this is reflected in our decision to keep the hour’s free parking in our car parks in Henley, while we have tried to keep increases modest wherever possible.”
