New Nature Landscape Artist at Artistry Gallery

Simon Pink is Artistry’s Gallery on Reading Road new artist adding to the collection of artists in resident already.

Simon’s dynamic work is incredibly strong and almost graphic in style. Simons paintings are created in the unique way, where paint is applied and then lifted off, with numerous layers he creates scenes of woodlands and coastal views peeping through colourful foliage, uncovering hidden bays and clifftop walks.  Simons pieces are very striking and would make a statement in any room. Gallery Owner, Sarah Pye said, “We love his contemporary style, in which his scenes, though classical by nature are undoubtedly contemporary in execution.”

Caroline Gatfield, one of Artistry’s local ceramicists has also brought in to sell the most incredible sculptural Poppy seed heads, which can be used inside or in the garden. These incredibly tactile forms, inspired by natures natural cycle are exquisite and placed on a plinth in the garden would undoubtedly be a talking point.

Framer Kevin is busy as always, and this month seems to have been particularly engrossed in repairing damaged artwork and reframing old and quite often dirty pieces with new mounts and modern  frames. He’s been giving tired pieces of artwork, a completely new lease of life and enabling them to be integrated into a more contemporary home with ease….. do pop in and see us if you need help with framing or choosing something special to finish of your newly decorated room.
