Care Home Residents Enjoy Activities with St Mary’s Children

Children from Early Years at St Mary’s School visited Henley Manor Care Home yesterday afternoon (Thursday) where they played games, enjoyed puzzles and colouring with the residents.

They also enjoyed the story Down by the Cool of the Pool altogether.  The children coloured pictures of unicorns, monster trucks and life boats which they are learning about at school.  Luca said, “I enjoyed colouring my unicorn best with Philippa.”

Nikki Robinson, Reception Teacher and Early Years Lead said “We really enjoyed our visit to the Manor Care Home today, with our Nursery and Reception children.  These sorts of intergenerational experiences are hugely valuable for young children, and it was wonderful to see the faces of the residents light up when our children were playing together.”

Louise Light, Lifestyles Lead/Manager at Henley Manor Care Home added, “It was such an enjoyable inter-generational activity.  The residents wre delighted to see all the children from St Mary’s School.  They raised everyone’s spirits.”
