St Mary’s Children Go Wild With New Outdoor Activity Partner

St. Mary’s Prep School in Henley is delighted to announce a new partnership with local organisation Wild Ones of Henley.

Wild Ones of Henley is a nature-based learning site, situated just outside Henley, and offers children the opportunity to get outdoors, get muddy and learn all about nature.

Rob Harmer, Headteacher: “We know how important it is for our youngest learners to spend time outside, learning in the fresh air.  As a town centre school, our partnership with Kat and the Wild Ones team offers our children a wonderful location in which to enjoy the very best of nature.  Our children enjoy regular opportunities to learn outside the classroom, whether getting muddy in their wellies, spending time by the river, or travelling further afield to Museums and galleries, all of these experiences enhance their learning.”

In their first sessions, the children have enjoyed planting seeds, learning about how to look after their seedlings, getting muddy with some great digging and racing as butterflies through the fields!

Kat Wickstead, Wild Ones of Henley: “I was delighted when St. Mary’s approached me about a potential partnership, and the opportunity to extend what we do to a broader local audience of little ones.  As a parent at the school, I know that their Early Years team do a wonderful job of getting their youngest pupils’ education off to a fantastic start.”
