Henley show fighting spirit to boost survival hopes

As the cricket season returned to the white ball 50 overs format, Henley’s first XI were acutely aware of the importance of a win when they visited Wokingham for their away fixture.

Thanks to a brilliant team performance, the Henley men sealed victory with just five balls to go, crucially drawing clear of the relegation zone in the Home Counties Premier League table. They are not out of the woods yet and will be looking to replicate this fighting spirit when they host Aston Rowant at the Matson Drive ground on Saturday (tomorrow). There were some great individual performances and one worthy of mention is Connor Lamsdale’s impressive batting at the end of the match. The only other HCC victory of the weekend was the Fourth XI who played away to Peppard Stoke Row CC.

Please come along to the home ground to support the First Team, enjoy a cool drink and bring a picnic while the summer weather continues.
