Sacred Heart School Host Ukraine Fundraising Day

Sacred Heart School hosted a Ukraine Day on Friday and swapped their uniform for blue and yellow clothes for a donation to Catholic Agency for Overseas Development Ukrainian Humanitarian Appeal.

Year 6 also organised a Easter egg raffle with the first prize of a large Easter bunny and a hamper of eggs being won by Gabriella in Year 4.  Gabriella was surprised to win and was very happy.  She said, “I’m going to share the eggs with my family and classmates.”

Nicholas from Year 6 talking about the war in Ukraine said, “I hope the war will stop soon and there will be peace.  I would like to see the money go to the people there for clothes so that they can keep warm.”

Headteacher, Rachel Gavin, “Usually each class normally has a community action group but because of Covid that all got stopped so we decided to host this special day.  We are also planning a sponsored walk for Year 4/5 and we will be hosting various other fundraising days throughout the year.  We’re delighted to have raised over £600 today.”
