Appeal for Witnesses to Assault

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault on Saturday (13/4) between 7pm and 8pm where the victim was in a field off Marlow Road, near to the rugby club and the River Thames.

The victim, a 16-year-old boy, was with a group of friends when another group of approximately 20 people arrived.

The group then approached the victim and began to attack him, knocking him to the ground and kicking him to the head and body.

The group were all between the ages of 15 and 17-years-old, with the majority wearing balaclavas or with hoods up.

The victim sustained a broken jaw and concussion and was taking to the John Radcliffe Hospital for treatment.

He has since been discharged.

No arrests have been made.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Glenn Piccaver of South & Vale CID said: “This was a serious assault on a 16-year-old boy, which has occurred in the early evening.

“I am appealing to anybody who has any information or who witnessed the incident to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.
